Electric or Gas Water Heaters?

Many of our customers ask us, which water heater is better? Electric or Gas?Truth be told both types of water heaters are good and will get the job done. But here are some of the things you have to consider before deciding on which kind of water heater you get.

  • What is there currently? Installing the same type of water heater is usually a lot easier and therefore making it more affordable.
  • Do you prefer to pay gas or electricity? In the past, gas was always a bit more affordable but natural gas prices around the Bay Area have been on the rise. If you have Solar…electric may be the way to go.
  • Do you have electricity in the area? If no, you will need it for your electric water heater.
  • If you did not have an existing gas water heater before, you will need to do quite a bit of plumbing. We will need to create venting for the water heater and bring a gas line to it as well.
